Wellness Social Trend
People nowadays pay close attention to their wellness. Health over wealth mentality has become stronger than ever before especially for millennials. Getting fit and healthy might be the end goal. “Feeling like you’re part of an elite group—that’s a huge purchase motivator,” says Larry D. Compeau, Clarkson University professor.
The wellness industry is still heavily focused on physical health. However, some consumers and companies are slowly paying close attention to mental health too. People start to realize that true well-being is the combination of physical and mental wellness.
Wearable Tech Trend
General wearable technology is declining:
General purpose wearable technology such as the smartwatch and fitness trackers were once the hot topic in the tech trend. However, Tech companies underestimated how difficult it is to convince consumers to wear something.
While the Apple watch is doing fine, the rest of the consumer wearable electronic business is not doing well. Jawbone is going out of business in 2016, and Fitbit's stock has lost 68% over the past year.
Specific target wearable is growing:
Even though general wearable tech such as smart glass and smart watches are going out of business, specific target wearable technology inventions are not slowing down thanks to the booming of robotic technology.

Mental health focus does not appear just in consumer trend but also in the hospital design trend. Recently, hospital interior design is moving away from traditional clinical designs but more residential feeling. Patients room also become more flexible for patients to personalized their room. The sense of familiarity and homeliness that the new hospital design provide is to reduce patient anxiety and stress.
